Service Hotline:+86-0769-3389 8888 Precautions for Installing SMD LED Modules:
1. For the dedicated LED switching power supply, ensure that adequate waterproofing measures are implemented.
2. The output voltage of the switching power supply must be adjusted according to the specific characteristics of the LED modules; do not arbitrarily turn the voltage adjustment knob during operation!
3. All modules manufactured by our company are low-voltage products. They are incompatible with 220V AC power; therefore, the power supply cables should be kept as short as possible.
4. LED modules have distinct positive and negative terminals; ensure that these polarities are correctly matched during installation. If the polarity is reversed, the module will not light up, but it will not be permanently damaged—simply reverse the connection to resolve the issue. Do not attempt to adjust the voltage up or down!
5. During installation, use double-sided tape or wood glue to ensure the module's mounting slots adhere firmly to the plastic backing plate. When using double-sided tape, apply a layer of silicone sealant as a reinforcement; otherwise, prolonged exposure to outdoor sunlight may cause the modules to detach. This step is crucial!
6. When installing LED modules inside plastic-formed lettering or light boxes, create as many separate circuits (loops) as possible. Limit the number of modules connected in series within a single string: do not exceed 40 modules for standard series, and do not exceed 20 modules for full-color (RGB) series. Exceeding these limits can lead to voltage drop issues and carries a high risk of excessive current flow in a single channel, potentially burning out the circuit board!
7. For LED modules that have not undergone specific waterproofing treatment, take precautions to prevent rainwater ingress when installing them inside plastic-formed lettering or light boxes.
8. The spacing between LED modules can be adjusted based on practical factors such as required brightness and module dimensions; typically, the density ranges from 50 to 100 modules per square meter. When arranging the modules, prioritize uniform illumination and ensure brightness requirements are met. The distance between the modules and the edges of the lettering should generally be 2–5 cm, while the recommended vertical and horizontal spacing between individual modules is 2–6 cm. During installation, avoid pushing or squeezing the components mounted on the modules to prevent damage. Additionally, internal connecting wires should be secured to the backing plate using silicone sealant to prevent them from casting shadows or obstructing the light output. 9. The distance between the LED modules and the surface of the light-emitting element must be carefully controlled to ensure uniform light distribution and brightness; therefore, the thickness of the light box is also of great importance.
